Droid refresh icon always on

Two days ago my droid started this. The refresh icon in the notification bar is on for 9 and a half minutes out of every 10. I have not downloaded any new app recently. I have checked what is running and it's the same stuff I've always ran and never had this problem (gtalk, gvoice, mail, swype).

Anyone know why this is happening? It is killing my battery life.why would this start all of a sudden?
