Droid Battery Life & Email Inbox Size

I'm new to this forum but have a question regarding my diminishing battery life on my Droid. I recently connected my corporate email, which uses Outlook, to my Droid and have noticed that my battery life is horrible now. I keep every email in my Outlook inbox and its huge. Will that effect the battery life of my phone? It seems like everything changed after I linked everything together.

check your push (sync) settings with outlook, perhaps your syncing as email arrives and are in a bad signal area? i have had my phone in the car in the parking structure and the battery died because i had no signal...
