Droid 2 flash rom problem?

Every time I flash a custom ROM i run into the same problem.

everytime I turn my phone on, or reboot my phone, it loads the Clockwork recovery. and I have to hit 'reboot' before it again reboots and loads android.

my current problem with it is with Fission 2.2.2 but i've ran into this problem before.

i've tried factory reset in both clockwork, and through Android its self.

any ideas/thoughts/suggestions?

Clear data on bootstrap. Remove it from su status and reboot. May have to do this every time you want to flash though. It's common and those steps worked for me.
