default contact number

i asked this in another area of the forum, but will ask again here. My wife has my work and my mobile number under my contact. she inadvertently assigned my work as the default on my contact. we cannot figure out how to de-select a default number. we can switch it from my work to my cellular, but she does not want either to be a default. Is there any way to disable this short of deleting the contact altogether and re-entering it?
