Connecting to a PC with USB

My old phone was an HTC touch pro. The Droid X I have now is a huge upgrade in most ways.

On the other hand, I used to be able to connect the HTC to my PC and it read it like an external HD or Flash drive with no trouble.

Tried this with the Droid X and the PC does not seem to see it.

Is there something I need to do?

I am sure I am missing something obvious and will kick myself later.

did you enable usb?

When you have the usb connected, on your phone in the notification bar you will see usb enable usb and you should get a notification on pc to view file ect...
