Download the fastboot utility linked in post #1 for your OS.
If you are using Windows (boo) download and install the HTC Android USB Driver for Microsoft PC from the bottom of this page.
Run the command as appropriate for your OS;
fastboot flash recovery /path/to/<recovery>.img (windows)
./fastboot-mac recovery /path/to/<recovery>.img (mac x86)
./fastboot recovery /path/to/<recovery>.img (linux)

Clockworkmod includes a backup utility (also known as nandroid backups).

Get into recovery and run the root zip file. I renamed my zipped root file update.zip.

I'm stuck for doing the root. How did you do it?

Go here ----> [PATCH] Install Superuser, Busybox and Rooted Kernel (For Use After Obtaining S-OFF) - xda-developers

Just download the attachment and put it on the root of your sd card and then reboot into recovery and flash that file.

I saw that someone flashed that and then couldn't get service. And by the root of SD card is there anywhere specific. I already tried a similar file and Clockwork couldn't find it. Did that patch work for you? And did you have to clear the data in Super user for it to work?
