Is this the still preferred/accepted way to clear bat stats?

1)Charge to 100%
2)Boot in recovery and wipe bat stats
3)Let phone fully discharge
4)Charge fully uninterrupted

I've been flashing a few roms and haven't wiped bat stats, hoping I can get better battery life after doing so.

Actually you don't need to do this since the GN battery calibrates itself due to new fuel gauge technology.

You don't need to boot into CWM to delete battery stats... Just use Root Explorer (or your favorite file manager) and delete the file /data/system/batterystats.bin
