Can't download any apps from Market

2.1 unrooted droid x. 3G and wifi mode. I can't download any app from the market. When I select the app I want to download and hit Install and Ok. The phone says that it will start to download. I immediately get an error message saying "Download was unsuccessful, please try again."

try going into settings/application settings/manage applications/market and clearing cache

since it is an unrooted device you always have the option to bring it to VZW but there solution will be to do a factory reset which most would like to avoid (also you could do this at home without the hassle of Verizon)

Thanks I tried clearing the cache. It didn't work. got it to work by signing into google talk ap. Got my info from here.
