Cannot input text

My Droid Razr suddenly stopped accepting text input. I can click buttons, the screen is very responsive, but I cannot enter anything into text fields whether I use Swype or the Motorola keyboard. Using Swype, the letter trace does show up, and word suggestions appear briefly, but nothing gets populated in the text field. With the Motorola keyboard, I get haptic feedback when pressing letter keys, but nothing gets input into the text field.

I did a soft reset of my phone -- power button + vol down, and I cleared browser data and cache, and still no luck.

Any suggestions?

I soft-reset it again, and it started to accept text, but after a couple of hours it stopped accepting text input again. Help please!
