I'm in the market for a replacement phone for my Storm II. I'm in a 4G area, but I'm not keen on any of the 4G phones from VZW, and since no one seems to know when the Bionic will appear, I'm not holding my breath.

One thing that is an absolute must for me is the ability to be on the road and get on-line to check e-mails, research stuff on the web etc...

This is the big selling point of 4G for me and I've heard rumors that the DX2 would have this ability over 3G.

Is it true? If not Then the DX2 is not for me and I need to choose between 3 poor choices on 4G.

No(at least mine doesn't), I believe that the tb might still be the only one to do that at vz. It's not blazing but it's functional in its SVD.

Thanks. I guess I'll pass on the X2 for now.

No. That is LTE technology.

Not exclusively. The thunderbolt can do it over 3G in markets where the towers have the necessary upgrade.

The phone also has to have the SVDO chip, and the Bolt is the only one that has it right now. It's basically a clunky but functional workaround. I don't believe the Charge has that chip?

Just the thunderbolt. It's a qualcomm tech for now.
