can i put downloaded movies onto droid?

Im kinda new with this stuff but I was wondering if i could put movies that i downloaded off the internet onto my droid. im pretty sure they are in .avi format already. (most of them say DVD Rip) Again im new to this so im not quite sure whats going on with all this

Use a program called handbrake to convert them to the proper file format. Use the settings for Ipod Touch and it works great. I am sure some more tech saavy users can explain it more fully, but that is what I do and it works like a charm.

Pretty sure there is an app that can play all video and audio formats. I'll have to look into it for you or someone hopefully will post one. You can download movies that have been converted to lower resolutions or convert yourself. I will try to find the max resolution that droids can play videos at.

Rock divix player or demo player. Its not in the market, giz or engadget had an article on yesturday it with download link. It works great, it plays my avi's like a charm. No more converting :)
