My calender widget's time and date are running off the widget area instead of wrapping around. It would show the time but the date could not be seen. This happens when the widget is resized. Is there is way to set it up so the date would show?

I use and very much like Jorte, free from the market. You might want to try it out.
One thing I noticed with Jorte is that it is better to delete and remake the widget instead of resizing it. Perhaps you are seeing the same issue with your widget. It actually works OK with Jorte widgets but the font tends to resize more appropriately (instead of just stretching it can resize a bit smarter) if you recreate the widget.
