I just saw that Verizon is selling a bluetooth keyboard for the droid. In their description they say that it uses the HID profile. I've read elsewhere that droid doesn't support that profile, so I'm assuming that the Verizon keyboard comes with software to add it.

    Questions.

Can I use this software to use a use bluetooth HID bar code reader (the camera based one is too slow for my purposes)? In other words is HID all I need or do I need to worry about some proprietary extension.

Can I get this software without spending $100 on a keyboard I will never use?

a link to that keyboard please...
past that, if a keyboard works, so should a become reader, all it does is act like a 10-key pad.

    Here ya go.

Verizon Droid Wireless Keyboard : (5 Star Rating): Google Checkout available.

The company looks a little sketchy. They are selling styli, claiming that they fit into your Droids silo when there isn't one, and no need for a stylus.
