"An update is currently being downloaded" - Any Ideas?

Posted this on the droidxforums.com, but was wondering if anyone had a similar problem with other droid phones (droid/droid 2) and what a solution might be...

I tried downloading the 2.2 update this morning and it hung at 50%.. after a few hours I rebooted the phone and tried to restart the update and it says "An update is currently being downloaded" .. The download arrow isnt on the task bar and it's been about 5 hours now.

Any idea how to fix this so I can download the update?

I have a factory stock, non-rooted phone..

Hmm.. I called Verizon and of course their solution was a hard reset.. so I did it.

I can download the update now..
