Huawei is gearing up to launch the Huawei Mate 20 series, and ahead of its launch, XDA has dropped the first renders of the device. Last month, XDA-Developers.com was able to obtain firmware files for the Huawei Mate 20, code-named “Hima.” Based on these firmware files, they were able to provide some of the basic hardware specifications of the Huawei Mate 20 including the presence of the HiSilicon Kirin 980 system-on-chip, a 4,200mAh battery, a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen, wireless charging, and a variant with 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage.

It does look & sound like a solid phone. But...can they be purchased in the US? Isn't there a ban in place?

They are selling current phones now on Ebay for GSM carriers so I'd think it will be the same

They don't have all USA bands in their phones so you will have sporadic service.
P10 pro had LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 6(900), 7(2600), 8(900), 9(1800), 12(700), 17(700), 18(800), 19(800), 20(800), 26(850), 28(700), 32(1500), 34(2000), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300)
American carriers use:
att = 2, 4, 5, 12, 17,
Verizon Wireless = 2, 4, 13,
T-Mobile = 2, 4, 12, 66, 71,
Sprint = 25, 26, 41
