Try doing a manual check now. Settings>about phone>system update.

I get: "Your device is up to date. No update is necessary at this time."

Will this OTA require a Factory Data Reset, like the previous OTAs did?
Apparently, not doing a FDR caused excessive battery drain in previous OTAs by the nefarious "phone idle" and "cell standby" processes.

um... none of my ota's needed a data wipe. So unless you do it your self (if your rooted and once the file is released) then you may need to wipe, but even then.

It's rolling out now... noticed the notification about an hour ago on my wife's Droid X. It's running flawless right now, and while the update appears to be mostly fixes for other issues, I see that Emergency Alerts was added.

Not on my phone yet. 6am on 2/22/2012.

How does Verizon push these updates out? By geographical region (I'm in So Cal)? By order of initial phone activation date (mine was around 8/2010)? By EIN/MEID sequence?
Can't be random, right?

From what's been posted online, it's only the soak test people who are getting it now.

With the small number of X's still in use, I would think when it becomes public it will be a mass push to all.
