3G issues

Sometimes when switching from wifi my 3G would not come on. I could reboot, toggle airplane mode to fix it. This morring I was useing PDAnet looking at this forum. things got real slow then nothing. looked at the phone (Droide 1) 3G on full bars turned off app. tryed to use phone browser. nothing. rebooted same. Called Verizion talked to the nices hottest sounding tec support person ever. Anyway she said do a battery pull. I was thinking DUh, but that fixed it for a while. then the same thing. so I called back. this time I get a dude. he has me do the *228 and that fixes it for how long who knows. He says if that don't do it the next step is factory reset. then a refurb. Really don't want to do neither of the tow options. I understand the contacts back up to google and the apps can be redownloaded form the market. Any way to save my data? I don't want to start over on angy birds. and re enter all my jort stuff. I'm non rooted. This sucks I have only had this phone for 3 months.
