ZTE-wants-to-launch-a-Firefox-browser.jpg

This isn't Android related news, but it is smartphone specific, and is also rather intriguing. Apparently, Mozilla, the makers of the FireFox web browser are hard at work building an HTML-5 mobile web browser for smartphones. Furthermore, ZTE, the Chinese mobile manufacturer is planning to launch a smartphone based upon this mobile OS in Europe some time before the end of this year. Qualcomm will be providing the chipset for the device, but no other info is known at this time, nor was any specific carrier mentioned.

What do you guys think? Does Mozilla stand a chance in the mobile browser wars with Android and iOS holding the top?

I've tried the B2G computer version of the FF OS and it looks nice, it feels very similar to android with some small differences.
Would be interesting to try this on my GNex.
