Your take on the best moto droid ROM

I'm really close with cvpcs and sniffle, and plenty others in their irc, so if I ever want a feature, they usually look into it. I have every feature I want in a rom, so I have no reason to switch. Plus their attitude and support are bar none the best in the community. Will be hard find smarter, more willing to help people in the android community.

couple of my freinds are big lithium mod fans figured i should throw it out there although i dont have a great deal of knowledge about pros and cons

i have used a lot of these roms and to be honest there is really not one real bad one..just some have different perks than others..all these guys do a hell of a great job getting all these roms and themes together

I would like to hear peoples opinions on what is the best ROM to use. This could be for overall general purpose, or your specific situation.

Please have a pros and cons section to make this a little more organized and complete.
Thank you to everyone who discusses!

Hands down, the best ROM / kernel combo I've used is the JRummy Lithium Mod ROM and using the jdlfg kernel (which was built specifically for Li-Mod). I went with the 1000mHz clock speed, SetCPU, and using Launcher Pro home launcher along with the command in my sig which locks it into memory.

But this setup runs very fast, and is most noticeable when scrolling menus and you can note that the scrolling is ultra smooth (must also use the jdlfg kernel to notice this smoothness). But my setup just runs so nice now and it never studders / pauses on wakeup and in general, I am very happy with this ROM.

There are more details to it than that. If anybody is serious and wants to try running this ROM, they should use it with Launcher Pro (if they want to expect the same results as I have), and so I would recommend they go to the Lithium Mod official forum thread here and read most of that, and also go to the Launcher Pro forum and read my threads over there, and also go to the Overclocking 101 thread here in this forum and read my posts there (really should read the whole thing). But with this setup I'm running now, the performance so smooth for use in the real world.

The only feature I wish to add to this ROM / kernel in the future would be Compcache support, which I did try using a different kernel, but that kernel in general, ran too slow (the Slayher kernel) because he compiled it with all the modules which bogged it down, but the Compcache feature was nice. I hope to see jdlfg add in support for that at some point, but I love how fast his kernel runs since he compiles it light with only the essential modules to run (lean and fast).

Sapphire v1.1, its awesome.

Its built from source like cyanogen, but not based off of their vendor model. Its "plain" like cyanogen but is easily theme-able and is insanely fast for me, best rom ive used since Ive gotten my droid back in march.

on my droid 1 i have had the following: SS 4.7, BBv0.4, Kangerade, Lithium Mod, and now I'm running Liquid Frozen Yogurt v1.6

Each rom has its own "bells and whistles" it really depends on what you want hense the reason everyone says to try them all till you find one you don't feel like switching out for something else. Out of all the roms I have ever tried I like LFY. It seems to run the best on my phone and I have 0 issues with it. JRummy's customization with kangerade & lithium mod are awesome. I miss being able to change system font for everything with the touch of a button, also being able to choose from a long list of boot animations (and preview them all) and installing on the fly was cool. Its also capable of a lot more google "absolute system" that is the tools thing that comes along with the rom.

Different strokes for different folks.. you really should try several before settling on one. :)

the best rom is not out yet. maybe soon

This is possibly true. Actngrezy has a rom in beta being tested, and it is runnin smooooooooth and fast so far- as good as any rom I've run, and I've tried about all of them. Should be in final very soon!! I was VERY pleasantly surprised by it, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! So if you're like me, and you feel an irresistible urge to flash new rims every week or so, give it a try!

flash new rims? Some kind of subliminal message? lol. j/k.

Recently had some issues with chevy ss4.7, and like the UD8.0 I put on my girls phone, so I flashed to UD8 too. Still use chevy kernel though...great kernels.

Phone is fast, smooth, like the features on UD8. One thing I wish it had was extended media buttons like chevy's rom. Long press volume up toggle skips, camera button pause media with screen off. Mainly because I listen to Pandora a lot through the aux input on my car stereo...but started having pandora bug issues with ss4.7, so trying this rom out for a while.

Im liking it a lot.

sometimes i hate auto-correct...

anyway, that new rom i mentioned is pretty much in final, and i think actngrezy will be dropping it tomorrow or friday. SLaYHer's 1000 kernel comes stock, and it's getting Quadrant scores consistently above 1300!
