Yes or no

Yes. And now I know of which you speak. They're better than anything Burger-just-bought-Tim-Hortons-to-flee-US-taxes-for-Canada-King has done in years.

Is it possible to get options better than my modified Android streaming stick so I can watch whatever I want as allowed by hardware, software, and subscription? (Actually, the video output is comparable to my Roku 2, though I haven't tried/tweaked it on my 50" 1080P plasma...)

Yes, but you won't see my waste my money on one. What they charge for what amounts to a Raspberry Pi with a locked bootloader and non-customizable software that feeds religious "channel" after religious "channel" and little else is insane.

Is the new Raspberry Pi 2 at $35 with free software you can basically plug-and-play for a quad-core home media center exciting to you?

Amazon FireStick all the way. Excellent HD streaming.
What was your question? All I heard was pie!
