These days there really aren't many great reasons to root your device. In the early days Android was slow and laggy. Rooting your device meant you could push your hardware to and often times past the limit in order to smooth things out a bit. Today flagship phones are faster than our laptops with octa-core processors, 6GB of Ram, and much improved UIs. They don't need overclocking. Most OEM skin overlays also come with some kind of in house theming solution, and have even adopted many of the old root mods like battery percentage.

There are still however a few good reasons to root your device. If you have an older device that is no longer supported by the OEM you will need to mod it in order to get up to date versions of Android. If you want to use the Xposed Framework you also need root. The Xposed Framework is the go to place to get any Rom mod you would ever want with only root.

Xposed was just updated to version 86. The latest build brings support for most Huawei Stock Roms, a fix that no longer allows for incorrectly compiled modules, and general cleanup and bug fixes. Head to the link below for more info and the download.

Better than looking backwards.

Glad to see the devs are staying up on xposed. I need install again to see what I'm missing.
