X wont stay on, popping battery all the time

Dont know if this issue is settings related or if my X actually has a real problem. But, when the screen goes black and the time of it seems to vary, but when i push a button to start using it again nothing happens. I hold the power button down nothing happens, the only fix is to pop the battery and then it starts back up. But it does it again the next time the screen goes black. Any ideas?

Take it back to vzw, get a replacement.

Curious to what the stats of your dx are...rooted, stock?

Ya I was going there tomorrow to get some clarity. I have no idea. I would guess that's its stock. Where would I check that?
