Wrong picture showing in text messaging

Just got my first smart phone 2 days ago. The Droid 2 Global. I love it so far, but one little thing bugs me. I asked a few of my friends to send me pictures for my contacts list. Well, I then discovered how to sync facebook with the phone contacts and when I look at contact info for a particular person I'll see their facebook picture, but in the texting screen I see the picture they sent me previously, even though I deleted those pictures off of the phone/sd card. Is there a way to change it so the facebook photo that shows up in contact info also shows up in texts? Thanks!
