Wireless tether

is wireless tether only for rooted phones or can I use it on a non root phone. I'm trying to avoid paying for the three g hot spot and I heard this is an option that is free. Just by using thr wt app from the market.

You need to be rooted.

There may still be apks around for usb tethering. You don't need root for that.
(Ex. Cda net, usb tether)

For USB tether, I recommend Easytether. Works well

I tried the et but the tablet is sayn sd card bad so I can't get the file off.
