Just wanted to be sure that before I install rubix 2.0.1 I took the correct steps. I seen where it said to wipe data/factory reset but what about the cache partition? Does that need to be done too? I'm coming from stock and this is going to be my first try at installing a rom!

Yea, you should. Doesn't hurt to be thorough any time you install a rom. I always clear cache, dalvik cache, and wipe data when I install and 99% of the time never have issues with roms or boot loops. The only exception is when upgrading the same rom to a newer version like rubix 2.0 to 2.0.1 I won't wipe data unless specified to do so by Drod.

under "advanced" in clockwork. Also in advanced is wipe battery stats which many suggest doing after a new rom install to calibrate battery and rom:

1. install new rom and let the battery completely drain to power down.
2. charge all night and on boot up wipe battery stats.
3. let battery go all the way dead again
4. charge all night again
Done

I am getting two days out of Rubix with the extended battery easy.
