Normal - I put it on mute so I'm not interrupted.

After all you are giving the DROID every indication that you want it powered on by applying external power.

...for fine print's sake, if you open your "Getting Started" booklet to the "Charge and Power On Your Device" section, there is a statement given. It says "Note: Your device is always on when being charged."

So, there we have it...
