Will I be forced off my $5 for 250 text plan?

I see that Verizon has dropped the 250text for $5 plan. I currently have that plan since I don't use many texts. Does anyone know if VZN will soon force me to go off of it and onto their 1000 for $10 plan?

I know Sprint would force folks off plans at times, does anyone know if VZN will do that?

*If so, I'll get the Gnex through Amazon for cheap (and get on the $10 plan); if not, I'll buy it through VZN for reg. price and stick with the $5 plan.

Not likely, based on past experience. I'm still on my original Alltel plan that I had when Verizon bought them, and I've upgraded to newer phones several times since then.

A buddy of mine was forced off the plan 1 week ago when he upgraded phone and was converted to the $10 plan. He inquired about it but the response was "it is the new plan and old plan no longer being offered."

I believe when you make changes to plans is when you get the new plan. When I upgraded my phone they did not change my old text plan but I changed it to the unlimited.

I use the $5 text plan and I just upgraded in store, although he (vzw rep) did ask me if I wanted to change, he gave me no issues about keeping the texting plan as is.

You can keep it if you go to the store to buy a new phone. I believe if you order a phone online they kinda force you to switch since there is no option to keep your current text plan.
