Wifi tether speed?

So i'm going on vaca and theres no internet so I plan on using the tether for my laptop which is no big deal but will it work for my Wii so I can watch Netflix? I use the Wii now wirelessly from my desktop but i didn't know if the tether was fast enough for it. Anyone know?

3G speeds can vary significantly based on location. Netflix generally requires a ~1.5Mbps to get relatively lag-free standard definition streaming; that is definitely possible with Verizon's 3G but for example where I am right now, my 3G speed is less than half that at 700kbps.

So I would say don't count on it, but you may get lucky.

my home internet speed is 768 kbps and netflix works well
