So, I leave wifi on all the time, but have it set to not seek out new networks, I just have it connect to my remembered networks. My home, which is secure and my work, which is open.
At home, I never have a problem. As I am approaching my door its already connected and working and it never drops the connection. I can surf the web and do everything without issue.
At work, its spotty. I sit directly next to the access point and it shows in my network list as an available network, but connecting to it doesn't happen consistently. For a long time it will just say, 'Scanning', then 'Connecting...' and then finally 'Disconnected' before trying it all over again. At one point it will connect finally, but then will drop that connection soon there after and start back over. Even when connected it's not always possible to bring up a web page or actually use the connection. Since it's an open network, I thought that this would be the easier of the two to connect to, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I have a friend in the office with an EVO and he connects to it without issue and remains connected all day without dropping it. So it tells me that there is either something with my phone or settings that is causing this issue.
I am running .595 GB right now, but have seen the exact same behavior on every GB leak, Froyo and various custom ROMs that I have tried...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
