widgets how do u get them to work

I know some of them u have to have a rooted phone and other certain things, but I just want a weather and clock widget. I have d/l a few but couldn't figure out how to get them to display.

Long press an empty spot on the home screen and press WIDGETS

hi jamos you need to long press (press on the screen until a popup pops up) and select widget>>>then the widget you want to use. if it puts it on the wrong place ... just long press the widget and move it where you want.
