Why aren't the stores STOCKED?

So Apple sells its junk to the sheep and the store has to be packed with inventory. But the Droid Thunderbolt 4G phone seems to come out months late (at least weeks late) and Verizon won't have nearly enough supply to meet demand? I keep reading about how stores will only have a few items in inventory that will probably deplete within the first 30 minutes. What gives? It's not like ramping up inventory was a problem or that there won't be adequate demand.

Source? I just read several threads with folks saying they were told stock would not be an issue. Who told you they were going to sell out in 30 mins?

Look at some of the threads here. Amazon now has a 9 day wait on Thunderbolts.
