Where's the update?

I just confirmed that the update was started rolling out in small batches on the 9th. From vzw. So hopefully we can all get it soon.

Not all soak testers got it. Today should be the last day for the soak test. Testers fill out the survey forms today. Should be 1-2 weeks and we start getting the official push.

Since so many non soakers got the update I don't think it'll even be 1-2 weeks, I'm thinking it'll start rolling out this week. Wishful thinking? Perhaps. You never know, seems ready to me. No it's not perfect, but I don't think that was their intent, or in their ability, just yet...

You could very well be right. I hope so.

I got it Thursday night and so far I wish I had not. So far it still loses data connection even though I live in a 4g area but the up side is I've lost root so no more WiFi tether. Oh wait I guess that isn't an up side, so it's down side 2, up side 0.

That statement alone is enough to make me not get it

I take it the camera isn't any better either?

Apparently you can recover root very easily -- see page 2 of this thread: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=186745

Camera is significantly improved for me. Much faster focus and virtually no shutter lag. Low light pictures have improved in quality, as well.
Data and 3G/4G hand-off is better in my case, but it was never really a huge issue for me -- just a minor annoyance at times.

FWIW -- I retained ROOT w/ Forever Root after updating. There is also a 1-click root app that will get it back if you were not Forever Rooted (or thought you were) and lost ROOT during the process. See the post above. :D

The camera is much better in my opinion. Shutter speed is much faster. Also the issues with installing apps to the Media Area are all fixed which makes the update a huge success in my book. I never had the data drop issue so I can't say about that.
