Where'd Swype go?

I've had Swype on my Droid for awhile now so I haven't been following any new news on it, but I had to swap out my droid today for a refurb and now I can't find the Swype app in the market anymore. I loved swype! Any idea's?

Swype was not in the market its a leaked apk that was not meant to be passed around or was it?
anyways search the forums for SWYPE and you will find a link to donwnload and install it

If you download a file manager you should be able to download it to your phone and run it. Download either astro or linda manager then you won't have to connect it to your computer.

You will also have to allow unknown sources apps to be installed.

Settings -> Applications -> Checkmark 'Unknown Sources"

Swype was pulled from inside an operating system and ported into the Droid, you can't get it from the Market.

SlideIt is an excellent alternative should you chose to go with d/ling something from the Market.

Though I prefer SlideIt, Shapewriter is another "Swype-like" alternative available in the Market. Having used all three, my heart is still with Swype but I suspect that's because I got used to it and have had to adjust to the alternatives.

Whatever one chooses, it's a good idea to try a keyboard for awhile before making a judgment.

Is SlideIt like $11?

For those who have purchased it, do you feel it is worth it?

Very interesting, just a couple weeks ago there wasn't a charge. Anyways there appears to be a 'lite' version at no cost.

Not sure what the paid version converts to though. Not good with currency, lol.

More like $8.

Well, let's see, I use the keyboard more than any other single app on the Droid, including the phone. It transforms typing from a burdensome chore into an activity where I can think about what I'm trying to say rather than how to fix what I just mistyped.

I'd like to have some assurance that after investing my time and effort into learning how to use the app efficiently that it will actually be available, supported, and potentially enhanced for a year or two. (In three months I've already encountered "free" apps that the developers have abandoned.)

So $8 is about two and a half lattes. Yeah, I think it's worth it.

Agreed. I just bought it. My first impression is that I prefer it over Swype, and I was a heavy Swype user!

Actually it converts to about $9.15
