Where is the mail stored?

I am referring to Exchange (ActiveSync) mail. Where is it stored on the phone?

I happen to have the Incredible but I assume this is a general rule.

It is stored on the server. It is cached on the phone. Therefore, ergo, it is probably located in one of the "cache" folders. If you have root explored, do a search for the word "cache" and see if you can find it. I'm pretty sure the last time I cleared my cache folders on the sd card I had to resync my mail so I'm betting it is on the sdcard, not on the Droid. But I could be wrong.

it may use the SD card if there is one available but it also uses the phones storage im gonna guess in /data/app/ because it stored my exchange email while i had no SD card in the phone.

Depends on the app but likely in the app's data storage in the phone storage (where apps are installed). Same goes for non-Exchange accounts.
