When Will the ThunderBolt Be Available for Purchase

I wonder if the problems there's TBolt is having are the same problems that the droid bionic was having??????????

I think the problem they are having is getting a single core/LTE device to run efficiently over a real 4G network.

I'm no expert but I think that's the real issue here. I said a while back with the current hardware in the TB it would be sucking down battery like nobody's business on the LTE network.

Phone should have been released last year as a 3G device like it was probably originally planned and now they want to capitalize on 4G with the wrong hardware.

If I was in the market for this device I would have bailed as soon as I heard they were going to make it 4G capable.

4G capable, dual core, HTC... when is that coming? That's what I WANT but I don't have the patience to wait for it. Been sitting on my upgrade since Decemeber with this joke of a touch screen called a "LG Chocolate Touch"

prolly one by the end of the year i just want sumn now to hold me over till next year thats all... and i want to get on this 4g before they decide to start chargin!

Yeah really, what phones are you talking about? Samsung Stealth? LG Revolution? Moto Bionic? Tired of waiting, and the only LTE phone on the horizon that has a chance to beat this phone is the Bionic, which won't be out until summer. I'll pass on the Sammy (ugly, no updates, don't like Touchwiz) and LG (newcomer to smartphones, unproven, don't like the UI). Plus, those 2 won't even have more current hardware from what I've read so far, even though better battery life is probably to be expected from them.

not to mention how STUPID the stealth looks HAHA what were they thinking on that 1 i would get the LG if it was out now but like i said i dont plan on keeping this phone long 1 year max

I definitely can't wait that long. I'm getting the Thunderbolt whether it has an issue or not.

The dual-cores will likely have better battery life, based on 2.4 being "optimized for dual-core processors". I remember my excitement at the first Droid, I got mine on launch day, at 8:39 in the morning. Local VZW store didn't open til 9, so I got mine at Wally World, then went across the parking lot to VZW and waited patiently for them to unlock the door, Droid in hand. Told the guy I wanted to activate my phone, and his jaw dropped..."Where the heck did you get that?" "Wally's. Y'all weren't open. Activate now, please." dancedroid
I want to see what the others will do, real-world. Much as I love all things Droid, if VZW isn't forthcoming, I'll be able to jump as soon as March 22, which may or may not be the release date for the TB, at this rate. There are a LOT of good phones out there, I would LIKE to have a dually, but don't NEED one yet. I don't want to wait until mid-summer for the locked-down Bionic, there will be a plethora of options then, even if it's on a different network.

My vzw store opened @ 7 am on d1 launch day. I was # 3 in line. I dont have upgrade till july so i wont b getting n e thing till then so hoping either bugs will be worked out of the tb or something better will b out by then but the only thing i can see comiwill b the bionic which from what ive read is not as good as the tb. Eithet way im chomping at the bit. Even considering getting an x to hold me over till then.

Now I'm brand new to this forum thing but I'm patiently waiting for this phone. I work for VZW in Northern California and there has been no release date I know wen ppl ask me I tell them straight up that I have no idea but I'm right there with you cuz I want this phone as much as u do. I've shopped so many best buys and I get a different answer every time. Being on vacation in Washington I got a I'm not sure but out in California I got a BB rep to tell me it was Feb 28th another Feb 24th so on so I've given up on guessin wen its goin to drop but still waiting for it to do so. This coming from an actual VZW REP

I just saw a HTC Incredible commercial (What is this? 2010?!) on ABC. Still no TB ones anymore.

Hoping that the Thunderbolt popping up on HTC's online shop is a good sign of an imminent release.

Just so we ate all on same page VZW has never given this release date so for everyone thats angry, b angry at best buy and everybody that has speculated the release date. Like I said I'm an RSR for VZW and would love to tell u wen its comin but can't cuz no date yet.
