When I add a number to existing contact it changes contact name to called I'd name

This happens if I click add contact on Samsung call list

Is there a way to add without it changing the existing contact name without resorting to to copy and paste via text fields

Situation a contact called restaurant
Then someone calls from the restaurant from a different number and comes up with person2 If I add to existing contact it changes the name of restaurant to person2 defeating the purpose of having a contact named restaurant

I have never experienced this problem, but I use Google contacts. Can this be an issue with Samsung contacts??
