Had some time with it now and I'm noticing that my signal at work isn't as good as it was b4 the update it will go from 4g to 3g to no signal within a couple of minutes. I also have rebooted more than I used to plus my battery life isn't as good (probably cause of the strain of trying to find a signal) so far phone has gone backwards with the update in my opinion (starting to remind me of my nexus)
Anyone?????

Thank you for responding! I tried your suggestion and I'm still getting the service unavailable message so does that mean that Verizon hasn't push the update to PA yet or do you think there's something wrong with my phone?

I'd call Verizon, and ask if everyone should have received it.

A new sim card solved the problem! It's downloading the new update as I type.
