What the heck? Droid Incredible commercial uses same "droooiiid" sound?

How can the HTC Incredible commercial use the same "droid" sound we all know and love? I thought for sure this would be copyrighted by Motorola. I don't understand, as this phone is not a successor to the Droid. It is completely different in fact. This saddens me.

because its part of the family of the droids that verizon will have.. so sound is good, they cant make one that says INCREDIBLE! lol would sound stupid so yea

r1 and his nonsense strike again. its not the "new droid". its just the latest phone to release under the droid marketing symbol that verizon began with the phone that was actually called the droid. the incredible will be old news as soon as another phone with android comes to verizon, and so on.

6 months from now, the incredible wont have half the following the droid still does 6 months after release. htc phones never last more than a couple months..because after 6 months, they've released 16 other phones..

That would be smart to use the Droid sound. No sense in confusing ppl. Makes someone new to the Droid scene say "Hey lets get ONE of those Droid phones."

Ppl, if we get caught up in the whole Droid vs Droid thing, we gonna lose focus on what really matters, taking market share away from the iPhone....:icon_ banana:

First of all, you can't copyright a word. Droid is a trademark.

Second, even before the Motorola Droid was released it was announced that Droid would be a line of Android devices carried by Verizon as well as a flagship device from Motorola. It's very old news that you might want to Google.
