i saw someone had around 1250 to 1400....in Quadrant Benchmark?

so i downloaded that one from market...and i tested me Droid X.

but my score couldn't come over 1170.....

i'm non-rooted and using launcher pro....

did i miss somthing or my DX is defective?

Don't worry about it, download a task app like Advanced Task Killer (you can pay if you want, but I just use the free version, it works just fine) and kill all the apps running in the background. Then run Quadrant again, should boost your score about 100.

what do u mean defective? do you even understand what youre doing when running benchmark? theres nothing wrong with a 1170

actually i was just reading another thread about quarant scores on the x yesterday so i decided to try it...the first two times i just went into "running services" and killed some things like weather service, gtalk, and skype and my score was 1100 something (not sure of exact numbers) and it was makin me think my x was slow...then i turned the phone off and back on...didnt kill anything and ran quadrant and the score jumped up to at least like 1270...i have since ran it at least 6 times and the scores all all well over 1200....give it a try

I'll admit, I'm not too familiar with it, but I did some (un)scientific testing, and average quadrant score increased with fewer apps running in the background. Just my personal observations

obviously but killing stuff is just wasting battery and a lot of the stuff you kill will just start up again

reference the link i provided

I don't ever kill anything ever since I asked about it when I first got the phone.

I just downloaded quadrant and got a 1267. I am happy.

for all you DX'ers out there: the DX that alldroid acquired had 2.2 running on it and it posted a benchmark of 1558

theres a little something to look for

actually, I ran quadrant before I ran taskiller got 1250's (must have had 2 dozen processes running).. ran taskiller, killed everything and ran quadrant again and only got around 1210...

..maybe some of the processes were restarting and slowing it down a little..

..anyway.. the phone is fast all the time

Ran Quadrant and got a 1284. Ran it after installing LauncherPro and got a 1268. Either way, over what the benchmark for the DX is. Pretty thrilled about that. Can't wait for 2.2 to see what I can get!

I dont use a task killer and my phones been off the charger for 8 hours with heavy use and just ran Quadrant and got a 1224 so just to see I killed all apps with SystemPanel and ran it again and got a 1252....

My scores always go up if I simply run Quadrant repeatedly. My second or third run always seems to be my highest.
