What is the frenzy about ICS??...I just don't see it

I'm trying to understand what all the frenzy and almost oragsmic drooling about ICS is??... I mean I could understand if it's bringing us spectacular differences, but come on now, what is exactly so great about all the ICS knockoffs, let alone the ICS itself...

Don't know about the knockoffs, but speaking from what I've seen on the Nexus, I'm just glad there's finally a stock version of Android that may not need any custom launchers or buggy ROMs on top of it. Everything seems to be well thought-out straight out the box. If they would have added the power widget in the notifications area, it would be simply perfect.

That's my frenzy, at least.

but name some thinmgs that you are referring to, because right now my Bionic on GB 2.3.4, is smokin fast and very, very stable...only the camera still needs a better software

I mean from what I know the camera app is going to be a big difference...but what else?...just wondering since so many seemed in a frenzy over it??... I mean Gingerbread over Froyo was a huge difference...so what is ICS giving Android over GB??...different icons??lol

How about the fact that ICS is the first Android OS that actually operates multiple core processors correctly and fully. My understanding is before it, while they utilize multiple cores, they aren't doing it as well as they could.

And if all you're getting out of the video about it is different icons and that's all, we probably can't explain the differences to you.

If there was nothing but this, I'd be happy as heck. But it's a lot more!

Yeah, I've watched a lot of hands-on videos, and everything I see impresses me. There's A LOT more to it than just looks. So far the only thing I see that I didn't like is that you can no longer add widgets by doing a long-press.

if it indeed can utilize multicores better then great, that along with the better camera.....but most of the frenzy I've seen is with themes merely using ics icons and images so why I made that reference..

I've not seen any video's so perhaps you can tell me how the ics OS will better utilize the two cores.....gee I hope I can understand your explanation....I'll try,..but maybe building custom PCs will aide me in trying to understand your explanation.....lmao

If you build computers then you should be able to figure it out quite well on your own. They've been talking about the fact that it is the first Android OS to truly utilize multiple cores for quite awhile now.

yeah but since you sounded condescending, I like to give you the opportunity to explain it to me.... if you understand it

I wasn't been condescending about the usage of the cores, I was being condescending about the fact that all it was to you was a lot of new icons.

But honestly, I've got work to do tonight, so have fun.

Your first post was perfect... but your second post was condescending in useless.... but maybe I should of mentioned more so the frenzy that's popping up... and not with the ICs OS itself
