What does the special R mean in DROID?

Ok so I tried searching for the answer but I guess it doesn't mean anything and it's just a design choice to get peoples attention, but I thought someone here may know.
Maybe it's another STAR WARS thing but I can't recall seeing the R like that in any movie.

No, it's a reference to the Android logo/mascot... The little green guy with antenna.

The word "Droid" is the only thing that relates to Star Wars.
