what are the phone log numbers in parentheses?

Just downloaded 2.2 to my droid and now I see numbers in parentheses beside some of the listings in the call log. Is that a count of the number of calls made to/from that number? If not, what is it?

Welcome! Mine has the same and I'm understanding it is the number of call to or from that number.
