warranty void stickers illegal

me just sayin

If you see any stickers that claims the warranty is void if removed, you can legally ignore them. Several major companies have been sent warning letters from the ftc telling them to quit using them. All I got to say is, it is about time. Users should have the right to open and repair their own devices.

Motherboard has obtained copies of the letters via a Freedom of Information Act request and has learned the names of the six companies that were warned. They are Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Hyundai, HTC, and computer hardware manufacturer ASUS.
