Wakeup, Fonts

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way that I can have my S4 screen wake up when I get a mail, message notification?
I hear the alarm notification but when i glance over at it the screen doesn't wake up.
I would like to have a readable notification or bubble but at least have it wake up to start.

Also I downloaded a font from for FlipFont but when I went into it the font I downloaded when I tapped on it said it wasn't downloaded when it was on my device when I went into the Play Store.
I noticed there is a iFont available which is better?

Thanks

There is a check box in the settings for "Preview Message", if you check that it should pop your screen on when you get a message.

Can't help you with the fonts.

I'm looking for the setting but haven't found it as of yet.
Is it in the My Device tab?

Thanks

No sir, if you go into the Messaging app and press the menu button and go to Settings.
T

Thanks
Checked and it was already checked (Preview messages) so I don't under why my device isn't waking up when I get a notification alert.
Is there a similar option for the email app?

I am using the gMail client because the email client that came on the S4 didn't let me create a google mail account.

Thanks

I don't think there's a built in option to wake up the screen when a text or email comes in, especially if there's pin/pattern lock. Handcent I think had that option if I remember correctly.

Yeah I first turned off the security feature to try to get this to work.
I was hoping that this functionality was offered in the OS verse installing yet another app just for a feature.

Thanks

It won't do it for an email, but it will turn the screen on for a text message and show you a preview of the message. I know this because mine did it out of the box and I really don't like that, installed and use GoSMS to stop that.

Not sure what would be preventing you from seeing it. It would do it for me whether I had a pattern lock, or just the swype screen. Mine still does it for when I get an MMS since I let the default messaging program handle that over GoSMS.

Has it ever done it?

Its been about a week and a half and I don't recall it ever turning on the screen.
I mean if it is then its for a split second and the time I turn to look at it or turn the device upright its off.

Thanks

I was driving today and I did see the screen wake up to flash me who the text was from but not the preview or contents. It may have shown the preview if there was only one text but you only see the names when there are multiple texts.

Thanks I am trying a app called Notify Me but it to didn't come one just now when I heard a audible notification of a email.
Bummer...
You'd think that would be a basic feature or maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks

I just cant seem to figure out why when I get a text message, and or email my device just doesn't wake up.
It stays off black screen.
I know I am getting messages on the device because I am hearing the notifications.

I must be missing a setting somewhere.

Thanks

I came back here because I just got a text and saw the screen wake up for a few secs to see the text message and where it came from. I'll check my settings if there is one.

The only setting I see is "Preview Message", Show a preview of the received messages on the status bar and lock screen.
