Voice to text problems

Hello.
1st post here,glad to be here and thanks in advance for your help.
In a nutshell,my voice search works perfectly.I can open a new text,search the web,etc with no problems.But once I open a text,the voice to text never works.I have linked my gmail account as required and downloaded proper apps as required.
Any ideas???

What model phone do u have and who is ur carrier?

Also if you want text messages to be read u need to open driving mode and check the boxes for what you want read aloud?

Howeveryou may find that your gmail messages may not be read aloud for you.you.

Walmart family mobile/t mobile ZTE concord is the phone. I dont want text read to me,only to speak,and the text to be dictated for me.It gives me the option to to voice to text,just doesnt understand a word.Again,I can use the voice function for everything else,even uncommon words,but the voice to text doesnt work.
