Okay so I've searched google trying to find a clear answer. When I call with Google Voice, does it use my plan minutes?

I'm not getting a clear answer searching google, some people are saying yeah it's free. Others say no, it doesn't actually call through the 3G so it uses your minutes.

If google voice does in fact use your minutes, is there an alternative application?

Thanks for your help.

I believe Google voice does not use you minutes but I thought it handled voice messages not phone conversations.

I believe what you may be looking for is Skype. Google Voice WILL use airtime.

DroidForums junkie!

You used to be able to add it to your Friends and Family, essentially giving you free minutes, but no more of that :)

Thanks for the information guys. May use Skype if it comes down to it. Was hoping for a free method though. Been reading into sipdroid, don't have it 100% figured out yet though.
