I have not rooted my note 2. But from what I have read people have not had problems retooting the phone. Check out xda I am sure they can help you

I have seen a few people say they got it. And they seemed credible with real looking screenshots, but yes it's been real quiet.

Foxfi never stopped working with samsung devices. It was a Motorola and htc problem. But I posted that because some people did not want to update just in case Foxfi did not work with it.
