If you have custom recovery (clockwork or sp) the install w/fail and you will not lose root. Since your sig says your running CM you should be fine.

Thank you I was a little worried about that. My wires droid is not rooted and it hit hers last night. Is there a way to get the new gmail and such or wait for a new rom.

You can find it in the market. If the install fails it's because the gmail app is in the system/apps. You can remove it or rename extention from .apk to .bak using root explorer. Then it will install.

Same thing happened to me. I tried re-rooting with z4root and soup or root and both failed. Ended up using Super One Click to un-root and then root again. Worked like a charm.

Some of us have suicidal tendencies lol. Couldn't decide which ROM to install and got hit with the update.
