Doesn't matter if it's just the few"abusers" now...this is just a step to eventually get everyone off the old UDP plans. It'll start with the top users but will work is way down. I'd make your plans now to find what you need when it's your turn to be dropped from UDP.

I think 5GB will be the magic number . Maybe not at first as they'll go after the TB users first but forever it seems the general consensus of Verizon users was unlimited meant 5GB since tethering and all that stuff was not around like today , no apps to gobble up data and browsers that did html were cutting edge, thus you had to try really hard back then to reach 5GB.

It looks like the actual number is closer to between 20GB and 30GB per line in the UDP plan. See the "official thread" here (Verizon Drops The Axe! Will Disconnect Unlimited Data Users Using Extraordinary Amounts Of Data!).

Well it's the news forum so it kind of takes precedence.

Hello everybody. I'm hoping my 15-25 G/month doesn't get it.
In Feb, I had a stroke. Over a million dollars in medical and rehab costs. Doing better every day. Walking again. Using my hand/arm better, too.
I disconnected home phone, internet. Only kept phone for communication, internet, emergency, listen to Sirius, radio, scanner with bad weather, etc. If they take and make data too expensive, I'm not sure what I'll do.
I've been with same company since 1983. Several buyouts, lastly Verizon. I have an old Grandfeathered plan Freedom 500. I pay extra to get 1000 texts and 500 minutes ave UDP. Data is most important to me.
Maybe they aren't after little folks like me.

But where can I look if I'm forced to leave RED?
What is my next best provider?
Thank you

You are safe for at least the next year, quite possibly more. Still, there are plenty of very good alternatives such as ATT, T-Mobile & Sprint to name a few.
