Verizon Towers

Does anyone know what Verizon has to do to their towers to get them ready for 4G? I noticed today that they are working on the tower by my house. Could just be routine maintenance, not sure.

generally they'd either add another antenna cluster, or replace the old one with one capable of both 3g and 4g (and i guess 2g, for compatibility reasons).

They need to be able to transmit the LTE (Long Term Evolution) frequencies through the same tower so they don't have 2 seperate towers for 3g and one for 4g.
